Imerys talcs are effective nucleating agents in semi-crystalline polymers such as PP, biopolymers, polyamide, polyester, POM and PBT where they increase crystallization rate and temperature.
In biopolymers In biopolymers, such as polylactic acid (PLA) and polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA), Luzenac talcs speed up crystallization, improve HDT and other mechanical properties, and reduce molding time and formulation costs.

In polypropylene Talc has a unique, strong affinity with PP making it a highly cost-effective nucleating agent: optimizing rigidity, impact strength, heat resistance, crystallization temperature and haze.
Talc modifies PP morphology during crystallization by increasing the number of nuclei in the polymer melt and reducing the size of crystallites formed in the final nucleated products.
For PP nucleation, we recommend our Jetfine® 1CA—which can be used at loading levels of up to 2% without impairing impact strength —Jetfine® 8CF and Luzenac A7 C.
